modern Australian winemaking techniques withm timeless French winemaking practices; perfectly capturing the philosophy of winemaking at Taltarni.
2012 was a great year for red varietals in the Pyrenees, with long ripening time on the vine and really nice acid retention. The fruit is harvested in the cool of night and sent to small open‐top fermenters. Cold maceration for 5 days for colour and aromatics,
this wine is then plunged and pumped over throughout
fermentation. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation in oak and is aged in those same barrels for up to 18 months.

A rich vibrant colour, this wine shows the complexity of both varieties, with lovely blackberry, chocolate, aniseed and dried herbs coming through on the nose. On the palate, an expected structural component in this wine is delivered to show the true essence of Taltarni’s history and estate reserve style. This wine has length, complexity and elegance, and will continue to deliver for decades to come.
