The Merlot variety is a native of the Bordeaux Region in France, where it is extensively used as a blender to produce those magnificent cru's. Chateau Petrus, Pomerol, is one of the exceptions, it's wines are made from 100% Merlot.
This is Taltarni's second classic varietal Merlot and it promises to be a long-living wine. This cru is sophisticated with deep red intense colour, a full soft, rich varietal fruit character on nose and palate. Good oak balance, velvet tannin finish and extremely impressive aftertaste. After ageing a few years the richness, complexity and charm will develop completely and the full character of this wine will emerge.
