The 2022 Growing season was temperate compared to traditional seasons on the estate. The vines had ideal growing conditions with minimum heat and water stress allowing the two key components of this blend to exhibit more delicate and subtle characteristics normally associated with their varieties.
Grenache was planted in 2016 with this blend in mind. This inaugural harvest of Grenache was picked based on allowing the fruit to reach flavour ripeness before over-developing tannin. In what was an extremely dry season, the Shiraz came into the winery first in early March followed by the Grenache in late March and the Mourvedre in early April.
