The 2022 Vintage produced optimal growing conditions for the Pyrenees reds, the fruit exhibited intense flavours while maintaining a balanced structure. These growing conditions also allowed the fruit to be harvested at ideal stages, to get the best from the fruit.
Our Discovery Grenache was planted in 2016 with this blend in mind. This is our inaugural release of single varietal Grenache having used it in blends the previous vintage. It was picked in late March to allow the fruit to reach flavour ripeness before over-developing tannin.
After 6 months of maturation in older French oak, each barrel was assessed, and the wine was blended to bring out the best qualities of this variety.
