The Taltarni ‘Discovery’ range of wines is comprised of some rare and some not-so-rare varietals and blends that are a little off the beaten track. These wines allow our winemakers to experiment with style, structure, taste, and artistic expression and give drinkers of these wines the opportunity of Discovery.
Tasting Notes: A bold, creamy and rich palate, derived from time spent on lees post-fermentation, the bouquet displays notes of pear, white peach and gingers. Time spent in French oak hogsheads and crisp acidity gives the Taltarni Pinot Gris good structure and length.

Vintage & Winemaking: Growing conditions for the vines leading into the 2023 season were ideal with minimum heat and water stress.
To retain the freshness and intensity of the fruit, the grapes were left to ripen slowly in the eastern morning sun and harvested in the cool hours of the morning. Gently pressed, the juice was cold-settled and then racked to be fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The wine was held briefly on its lees to retain the natural flavours and soft texture.
